Landscape Laborer - Full Time Position
Job Description
A Great Choice Lawn Care and Landscaping has an immediate opening for landscape laborers to help serve our growing customer base. These are Full-time seasonal positions.
Provides services to residential and commercial clients involving landscape maintenance and landscape installations. Landscape maintenance includes pruning, mulching, weeding and general maintenance / overhauls of the property. Landscape installations would include the installation of plants and trees, pavers and retaining walls. This position has the opportunity for advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains a clean driver’s license in order to comply with NYS regulations.
- Keeps and maintains NYS DOT compliance.
- Fills out required paperwork.
- Performs vehicle and equipment safety checks before leaving and upon returning to shop.
- Maintains vehicle and equipment in accordance with company standards.
- Assists in keeping the facility clean and safe.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED, or 6 months to 1 year related experience, and/or training in horticulture and/or customer service or equivalent combination of above education and experience.
- Licensable and/or certifiable as required by federal, state, and/or local government.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Attention to detail.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management and organizational skills, including punctuality for on-time attendance.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Regularly required to:
- Sit or stand.
- Walk on uneven surfaces or climb stairs for an extended period of time.
- Lift up to 50 lbs independently
- Push and pull equipment.
An employee that is physically active, works indoors/outdoors, interacts with customers, and may be exposed to foreign substances (e.g., chemicals).
